For context, in this scene, some dumb kids are in the basement of Canada's largest mall (West Edmonton Mall) the day before Christmas. Naturally, they are on the run from some bumbling crooks. Their Dad, (Patrick Swayze!) is somewhere in the mall above them, shopping. Meanwhile, Santa Claus, disguised as a janitor, creepily helps the kids find their way out of the basement. He counsels the most insolent and skeptical of the children not to open the red door. You might think you can guess what's on the other side, but nothing can prepare you for the horror.
